Being straight with you: structured matching is not running yet. We are collecting interest from mentors and mentees now, and pairing people manually in the meantime. If you register, a person will read it and reply.
Why this matters
Mentorship is one of the strongest predictors of career progression in technology. But finding a mentor who understands both the technical path and the specific situations Muslim professionals navigate — asking for prayer time, getting through Ramadan on an on-call rotation, being the only Muslim in the room — is considerably harder.

For mentees
We are looking to support people in software engineering, data and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud and IT, product and design, and technology leadership — including students, early-career professionals, and people changing careers into tech.

For mentors
You do not need to be an executive. Being three or four years ahead of someone is often more useful than being twenty, because you still remember the details.
To volunteer: email info@muslimitassociation.org with your discipline, seniority, and how much time you can realistically offer. An hour a month is genuinely useful.
What good mentorship looks like here
- Regular and low-ceremony — a scheduled half hour beats an open offer to "reach out anytime".
- Specific — a real problem, a real review, a real decision.
- Two-way — mentors consistently report learning as much about the industry as they teach.
- Bounded — a fixed number of sessions, renewable, so neither side feels trapped.
